The following sections are applicable to all Windows SECURITY LOGICAL© Database Applications developed by WATSON SOFTWARE SYSTEMS.winZip Guidelines. winZip is used to shrink and expand Files for quick transfer time on the Internet and is installed to be activated with the Right Mouse button in Windows Explorer.
- Drag and drop. In Windows Explorer, hold the Right Mouse Button down and "drag" the filename
to a Folder of your choice. When you release the mouse, options appear.
It is best to drag the filename in this manner so that you do not have to type File
or Folder names and the file is put exactly where you want it.
- Menu options. After dragging, there will be options to "Add to Zip file"
if it is a normal, uncompressed file, or "Extract to Folder" if it is already a compressed Zip file.
In particular, when Zipping (shrinking), a filename with the *.zip extension is suggested;
for example, "Add to < filename >.Zip".
Usually you will use this name. When Extracting (expanding), drag the < filename >.zip
to its new (or even current) Folder location and select
"Extract to Folder". You do not need to use the sub-Folder under the targeted FolderName.
